Synthesis and Identification of Pyrazole, Pyrimidine and Isoxazole Derivatives

Abstract

Some organic heterocyclic compounds (pyrazole, pyrimidine and isoxazole derivatives) (D1-D5) were synthesized by several steps starting from 4-hydroxyacytophenone to prepare 1-[4-(5-Bromo-pentyloxy)-phenyl]-ethanone (B) by Williamson ether synthesis. Chalcone derivatives (C1-C3) were obtained by reaction compound (B) with a proper aldehyde (benzaldehyde, 4-nitrobenzaldehyde). Finally, chalcone derivative (C1) reacted with a proper hydrazine (hydrazine hydrate, phenyl hydrazine) to yield pyrazole derivatives (D1- D2), respectively.  Chalcone derivative (C2) reacted with urea yielded pyrimidine derivative (D3). Chalcone derivatives (C1) with thiourea yield pyrimidine derivative (D4) and chalcone derivative (C1) with hydroxylamine.HCl yielded isoxazole derivative (D5). All prepared compounds were confirmed structurally using spectroscopic (FT-IR, 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR) techniques.
